Oakland Digital (ODALC) is proud to announce “Oakland Booster,” a 4-week incubator program dedicated to foster and support Oakland-based start-ups that assist local small business.
Start-up #1 – RateCred.com: Oakland Digital first worked with RateCred Inc., as part of a program to help Oakland residents become more aware of the great locally owned small businesses, Oakland themed digital content and websites from local experts, and business associations that are trying to help Oakland thrive.
RateCred Inc. received feedback from Oakland Digital during its rollout of Oaklandly.com, a locally themed website which also provides location based technologies for mobile phones, to help patrons discover what is great about Oakland in the locations they are actually at. Start-up #2 – GetContact.info: Next, Oakland Digital worked with GetContact.info, as part of a program to empower traditional business cards with a personalized QR code allowing small business owners to access real-time analytics with GCI’s powerful contact management platform.
Oakland Digital encouraged GetContact.info to create a “promotion” button that gives non-profit organization’s the ability to collect donations – a tool that Oakland Digital has used to collect nearly a dozen mobile donations. Learn more by visiting www.getcontact.info.
Start-up #3 – LocalOn.com: Although LocalOn.com is based in South San Francisco, Oakland Digital accepted LocalOn.com as an Oakland Booster participant. LocalOn.com helps help local businesses get found online, right where consumers are looking. They aim to get consumers plugged in to exactly what’s going on in their neighborhoods.
